My Offer was Accepted on an Investment Property
So I found a house for investment purposes, put an offer on it and it was accepted! I’m in the due diligence period where I’m gathering information about that house, including scheduling an inspection. There is a lot involved in purchasing an investment home. For those that don’t know, I’m purchasing a house to use as a rental. I plan to be a landlord, or landlady that is.
You have to be much wiser when buying an investment property because the numbers have to work. When you’re purchasing your primary residence you can let your emotions influence your decision. With an investment property, emotion is a no-no.
There’s money I have to invest even before I decide if I’m moving on to closing on the house, the cost of de-winterizing, a small cost for turning the utilities on in my name and the cost of the home inspector. It’s a lovely home and I hope everything works out where the numbers will work for me to move on with the purchase!
